Obedience & Behavioural Dog Training
Welcome! My name is Kathi Yorke. I am a certified dog trainer. I offer in-house private obedience and behavioural dog training to clients in and around Erin, Ontario. I have been working with dogs and their owners for almost a decade. There is nothing more satisfying for me than to see a happy relationship form between dogs and their owners.
Contact me by phone (519) 833-0795, or by using the contact form on this page. After our initial contact, I come to your home for a 30 minute meet and greet with you and your dog (at no cost to you). Continuing on from there, I make an assessment based on our visit together, and within a few days, suggest a training program outline which is specifically tailored for your dog that is based on your needs. One hour is the minimum for each training session. The first session sometimes runs a little bit longer as it we familiarize ourselves with one another.
Committment - My committment is to my family, friends, my dogs as well as the dogs and people I work with outside my home.
My Story - The training Services part of CuGein evolved from my love of dogs as I am a dog lover first. I am a dog trainer second. A well trained dog that knows what is expected, and is willing to please is what makes all the difference in the relationship between dogs and their humans. My goal is to help that happen. Training is an investment in enhancing your quality of life with your dog. Frustration between you and your dog puts a strain on your relationship. That is what leads to a break down in communications. It doesn't have to be that way. If you have the opportunity to avoid problem behaviours before they start, you will learn how to bring out the best in your dog. On the other hand, if you need help with problem behaviours that already exist, there are ways to manage and change them.
My husband and I have always had dogs in our life. Our canine family together began by rescuing dogs and cats. We had never had a puppy and the day we each met an Irish Wolfhound, we felt it was time. From there, we have grown to having a pack of 7 Irish Wolfhounds over the past 9 years and have been fortunate to bring 4 healthy litters of irish wolfhound puppies into this world in the last 8 years. Our focus with each pup is to observe their behaviour and encourage appropriate manners through training while encouraging their individuality to flourish. It has been a very rewarding experience.
